Moving Light Truss

The machinery consists of a custom made truss that is comprised of four 200 cm square truss elements that are suspended from two variable speed chain hoists with a rated capacity of 1000 kg each. The truss structure weights approx 140 kg and the admissible equipment load is 1,100 kg UDL. The truss assembly is designed to move during the show in a path asynchronous mode.

Tracking Video Wall

A symmetric pair of square travelling video walls that are approximately 4 m wide by 10 m tall and weighing up to 1300 kg per side. Each half is driven up to 2.4 m max horizontal travel at 0.17 mps max speed by three motorised tugs working in sync. The panels open and close in close proximity to performers and crew on the main stage.

Main Stage Lift

The Main Stage Lift is a 2 m wide SL/SR by 5.2 m deep US/DS welded aluminium lift platform that is in two latched sections and mounted on dual hydraulic one-ton double stage scissors lifts that vertically travel 2.6 m at a slow 0.064 mps max speed from 56 cm retracted to 2.65 m extended height with performers and props onboard. This 20 cm thick lift platform is faced with LED video on three sides.

I understand that the machineries included in this safety induction are the Moving Light Truss, the Tracking Video Wall and the Main Stage Lift.

Downstage Area

When the Moving Light Truss is in motion, people present in the downstage area are exposed to the risk of being hit by a moving structure or by equipment that unintentionally may become detached.

I understand that for safety reasons I should not stand or pass through the downstage area when the Moving Light Truss is in motion.

I acknowledge that access to the downstage area is restricted when the Moving Light Truss is in motion.

I'm aware that I need to request for the operator to stand/access/leave the downstage area during commissioning and rehearsals.

I'm aware that there is a GLOBAL E-STOP station SL and SR, which is available in case of emergency and when pressed will stop all machinery that is in motion, including the Moving Light Truss.

I confirm I will locate the GLOBAL E-STOP before accessing the central stage area.

Above/Below Stage Central Area

The central stage has an opening for a stage lift that exposes people to a crushing hazard when it’s fully retracted, a shearing and cutting hazard when it is at stage level and a falling from height hazard when it’s fully retracted or fully extended.

I understand that the Main Stage Lift is a only a performer lift and it cannot be used to move equipment or crew.

I understand that for safety reasons I'm not allowed to stand on the Main Stage Lift when it is in motion.

I'm aware that there's an available LOCAL E-STOP station understage that is in the proximity of the stage lift area, and when it is pressed will only stop the Main Stage Lift.

I'm aware that there is a GLOBAL E-STOP station SL and SR, which is available in case of emergency and when pressed will stop all machinery that is in motion, including the Main Stage Lift.

I confirm I will locate the LOCAL E-STOP before accessing the understage area close to the main central lift.

Upstage Video Wall Area

When the two walls meet at the centre line, the risk of crushing has been mitigated with the presence of two spotters with a DEADMAN handle located in the upstage video wall area.

I understand that for safety reasons I am not allowed to stand between the two video walls when they are in motion.

I'm aware that I need to request for the spotter to pass from the downstage area to the upstage area when the walls are in motion and during commissioning and reheasals.

PPE

You must wear the appropriate and necessary PPE for the task identified in your company risk assessment that is related to the activities you have been asked to carry out.

Accreditation

When you arrive on site, someone will provide you with the necessary accreditation before you start work. Ask the security staff for directions in order to reach the accreditation area and make sure that, if required, you have the necessary PPE with you.

IMPORTANT

Accreditation or permit to work may be subjected to further safety inductions; site and yard rules, roof access, vehicle allowances and permits are NOT automatically granted after you complete this induction.

Induction Completion

Completion of this induction is mandatory for those requiring access to the stage and to be present in the hazard zone during assembly, commissioning, setting, operation and dismantling.
